Power and phone service has returned to the buildings in the Stow-Munroe Falls school district, according to spokesperson Jacquie Mazziotta.
Superintendent Russell Jones said sent a phone message around 3:20 Tuesday afternoon about the "exciting day two" to alert parents of a power outage at Stow High School and a phone disruption in the rest of the school buildings.
Mazziotta said via email the high school lost power around 12:15 p.m. when lightening struck a power line, which damaged a capacitor. Students finished their day at the school.
First Energy technicians restored power to the building around 3 p.m. Phone lines district wide were restored by Ohio Edison around 4:30 this afternoon.
