Kelly Lanci
Library/Media Specialist, Grades 9-12, Stow-Munroe Falls High School
Kelly Lanci has been teaching for 18 years. For 13 years, she had taught seventh grade Language Arts. Kelly has spent the last five years as a Library/Media Specialist in the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District. Kelly has redesigned and constructed three of the district’s library/media centers to create 21st century learning environments. She has also created a teen book group, designed curriculum for information literacy classes, is a lead teacher for the International Leadership Educational Program through Kent State University, and a recipient of district grants. Kelly has been married for 16 years and has three daughters, Alexandra, Livia, and Ava, who are gymnast and competition dancers. Kelly states, “my favorite aspect of being a teacher is working with students. In my 18 years of teaching I have always wanted to go to work!” She believes that the advice that has helped her to achieve where she is in life and also the advice that she shares with her daughters is, “If you want something badly enough then you must work hard to get it!”
