The Bulldogs (2-0) played tough press defense to limit their Northeast Ohio Conference opponent and generate points off turnovers.

Sophomore guard Sam Shaver paced the Bulldogs on both sides of the ball. Leading the team with 16 points, Shaver scored five of her six baskets off steals from the press defense.

“We run the press defense through Sam because of what she can do up front,” said head coach Bob Podges. “She was the key tonight.”

Senior guard Abbie Lawson also contributed double-digit scoring figures for the Bulldogs with 11 points of her own.

Leading the Black Tigers (0-4) was senior Mary Messner with 11 points.
