The Rotary Club of Stow-Munroe Falls held its 2012 Holiday Helping Hands event, which provides gift boxes to needy families, on Dec. 11.

Forty Rotary members and their families combined to assemble and deliver boxes full of gift cards and other items to each family.

The Rotary selects families based on community input and then provides money to purchase gift cards for food, gifts and fuel. Families receive $250 in gift cards, along with gift coupons and food items. Rotary members also provide at least three gifts to any child in the family.

The Rotary has initiated this program for the past four years and has assisted 74 families and 132 children through the program.
