STOW: McDonald’s is sponsoring a community-wide Scavenger Hunt to celebrate its grand opening that is slated for Aug. 1.
Emily Stiles, of Stern Advertising, said that owner/operator Will Galloway is: "very involved with the community and thought the hunt would be a really great idea to launch the opening."
Through Aug. 4, the newly built McDonald's restaurant, located at 4346 Kent Road, is sponsoring the community-wide scavenger hunt in conjunction with the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce and local business partners.
This summertime family event offers residents the chance to win grand prizes -- including a grand prize trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando.
Each Sunday through July 28, clues can be found online, here.
Each clue will lead participants to featured local businesses, where contestants will receive a store-branded token, answer a trivia question or snap a photo.
Scavenger hunt participants can verify the items they collected and register for prize drawings from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5 at the new McDonald's location.
To qualify for the grand prize, participants must collect the correct item from each of the featured businesses. Those unable to collect all items will be eligible for other raffle prizes. Winning entries will be drawn during the McDonald's grand opening celebration from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Winners will be announced on Aug. 6 and are not required to be present.
In addition to the prize drawings, other grand opening festivities will include a giant spin-to-win prize wheel, special menu pricing and a visit from the world's most famous clown, Ronald McDonald.
