STOW: Cleveland Browns safety TJ Ward and defensive tackle Phil Taylor will be on hand for the Jacob’s Warriors fundraising event from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Sto-Kent Family Entertainment Center.
A ticket for the event allows participants to have unlimited bowling, mini golf, volleyball and food, said Amanda Creque, Jacob’s Warriors co-founder. Tickets will be sold at the door, $27 for adults and $12 for children.
The event will also feature raffles of NFL merchandise signed byJoe Haden and Joe Thomas, also of the Browns, and Mohamed Massaquoiof the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jacob’s Warriors is a non-profit organization that raises awareness and provide support to children and families affected by blood disorders. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to Akron Children’s Hospital, while all other proceeds will fund the foundation’s assistance to families with blood disorders.
The organization is named for Jacob Whiteman, an 11-year-old Streetsboro boy who was born with a rare blood disorder called Diamond-Blackfan anemia.
Creque said in a news release the goal is to more than double last year’s total, raising $6,500. Last year the event generated $3,000, with $1,100 going to Akron Children’s Hospital.
