Stow-Munroe Falls City School District Superintendent Russ Jones is up next for the city’s one-year celebration.
Jones addresses the district’s academic success along with his goals for the future.
Here’s what he has to say:
Q: What recent accomplishment are you most proud of and what goals are you focusing on for 2013?
A: I am proud of the district receiving the Highest Performance Index rating in Stow-Munroe Falls schools history this past year, as well as earning the Excellent rating since 2006. This demonstrates consistency in our academic achievements over time. Our goals this year, is to continue to focus on the financial assistance and efficiency in the district and making sure we are careful with taxpayer dollars at every turn.
Q: What makes Stow unique to other surrounding communities?
A: The community's pride in our District - I've had many people tell me they moved to Stow and Munroe Falls because of the schools. Community involvement in our schools and city-sponsored events is also unique in our community. When there's an event in our community, people turn out and support it. Stow and Munroe Falls are two outstanding cities that work cooperatively and effectively across a wide spectrum--including schools, city government, service organizations and philanthropic groups.
